A few days ago, I (along with the Hubs, of course) became the proud owner of......
THIS.
Yep, you are seeing it right. It's a patch of very statuesque weeds (in front of a BEAUTIFUL hillside...unfortunately not mine). Try to contain your envy, it doesn't become you.
Anywho, we expect to have this puppy cleaned up soon, and maybe...just maybe...evolve into the proud owners of a big fat hole in the ground before the school year begins.
Stay tuned...
...and, seriously...enough with the jealousy. Get your own patch of weeds!

Summer BREAK
So, June was eventful. We sold our house, moved into The Dup (see earlier post to get more acquainted), had various bouts of pink eye, had to buy a new washer and dryer (unplanned), had an unfortunate incident with our tire and a VERY LARGE screw...need I go on.
WELL.....it looks like July is working up to be another STELLAR month.
EXIBIT A

Yep, it's broken. A fatty pad stress fracture, to be more precise. And, like Ian's unfortunate arm incident a few years back, I wasn't present for this break either. Oh well...at least I'm not in danger of interrogation by CPS. Charged with negligence...maybe.
PS - isn't he cute?!?
His Name was Justin
Swimming lessons this year were great! We used the same school as the past few years, Graham's School of Aquatics (look 'em up....they are awesome sauce). My kids really got to know and love their instructors last summer, so imagine their surprise when all of the instructors this summer were new. They were a little more than nervous when they realized that they were going to have to get to know new people. GASP!!!
The kids did well...as well as kids who don't swim all year could do. They are slowly getting it, but I blame their mom for not taking them swimming more so they can practice their skills. Oh wait....
Anywho, the kids DID manage to get to know their instructors and surprise, surprise...they loved them. So much so that Connor even said to me one day, "I love Justin, he's my best friend". Justin, obviously, was one of the instructors. In fact, he was THE instructor in my boys' minds.
So, all in all, it was another successful year. Maybe we will actually make it to the pool a couple times this summer and put our POOL SKILLZ to use! (Hint, hint, mom. Oh wait....)

The Dup
Meet The Dup (pronounced doop)

Our new digs for the next 6-8 months. It's cozy (small), the rent is great (pretty cheap) and the bus stop is close (at the end of the driveway). We met The Dup yesterday, which was exactly one week from the day we have to be out of our house. Stressful, much?? Yep!!
But...now that we have a place to sleep at night, we can focus all our energies on building our new home. Wish us luck...we're gonna need it. :)
