School Days

It's OFFICIAL!!!

School is back in session!! Elise started 3rd Grade and Ian started Kindergarten (although not officially until next week). Mom is pretty excited, but along with the good things, there are always a few bad:

PROS
- cleaner house
- less fighting/screaming/wrestling/crying
- less boredom for the kids
- stores are less crazy
- more (much needed) one-on-one time with my baby
- an occasional nap for mom (if I'm lucky)

CONS
- homework!!! (I know they are young, but homework is homework to me...)
- getting up earlier
- more laundry (school clothes AND play clothes)
- less freedom
- Connor freaking out every time the kids get
on the bus - he SO wishes he was big enough to go

When I asked Elise what her favorite things were about the first day, she quickly replied, "Our teacher lets us chew gum in the classroom and visit with our friends while we work!!!"
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this yet, but we'll see... At least she is having fun, right?

Since Ian hasn't started yet, I will have to quiz him on his favorite things next week and get back to you with that one...

All in all, I think this is going to be a great year for the kids filled with fun, friends and lots of great learning opportunities.

So Many Time Wasters...So Little Time!!

Chris' brother was in town visiting recently, and while he was here, he turned us on to this latest time waster (as if I needed another one).

It is called Literal Lyrics. They basically take a video and change the lyrics based on what is happening in the video. This one, in particular, is HILARIOUS!! But, there are many more of these on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy!!
